The
New Mexico State University
houses
by far the largest fine art collections
in New Mexico. These collections enable
them to fulfill our mandated missions: to
educate about and through art, to
directly support the academic programs
of the University of New Mexico, to
enrich the cultural life of the city and
the state, and to contribute to the
international scholarly community.
New Mexico State University, Department
of Art,
provides a rigorous program for the
enrichment, application, development,
and appreciation of the visual arts.
Art history students acquire a
comprehensive understanding of the
aesthetic and cultural issues addressed
within the history of art.
Specialization areas within the
department include: art history,
ceramics, drawing, graphic design, metalsmithing & jewelry, painting,
photography, printmaking, and sculpture.
Our mission
is to join the many resources from
regions across the USA into one web.
Thus affording the collector, potential
buyer and interested artisan, to view
all of these exhibits, and be informed
of local, regional, and national events,
simply by entering one of our regional
portals vs. spending hours via the major
search engines.
